Back in 2007 Mel began a weight loss journey and wanted to not just be apart of another fad but to implement healthier lifestyle choices. This was also the beginning of her yoga practice. Yoga was one of the many activities that helped her stay focused and centered while she challenged herself to lose 100lbs, which she did and has kept off ever since.
Once she had met her weight loss goal she knew her current career was no longer fulfilling, and wanted to persue a different career choice, one that would support her active lifestyle. Yoga seemed the perfect fit into her life, so she decided to take her first yoga teacher training in 2009 and in 2014 completed her 300HR YTT in Thailand. Yoga offered so much more than just a physical workout and Mel was drawn to the emotional and spiritual aspects. Now, 10 years later she is still teaching and loving every moment!
